Photo class, week five...

This week's assignment was all about portraits. How to take photos of people, and even a self portrait.

I have found this was my least favorite activity. Why? Because I felt like a creeper! Here you are skulking around trying to be a fly on the wall with your gigantic camera. Not exactly inconspicuous. When our instructor went through our assignments we discussed this feeling, and she did put me slightly at ease saying that, "I've been doing this for years and it took me years to be OK with getting in people's faces. Especially faces you don't necessarily know that well."

I felt a little better, but it comes down to this. I loathe getting my picture taken, so I feel others must have that same mentality when it comes to photos.

Nonetheless, I had an assignment and I managed to get a few shots I felt were pretty decent. At least, that's what the instructor said. Maybe she was just being nice! I did think these turned out pretty good, considering how nervous I was.

The future Mrs. Marcus. Pics are easier when the peeps are photogenic.

This is J.T. He looks like this all the time.

This was the self portrait. It was a class favorite.
