It is baffling how many people want to become famous, and it's even more astounding what some will do in order to do it.
When I'm bored sometimes I'll pull up video sites and check out what people are posting. Blows me away. It's not so much the content, it's the fact that these folks have enough time to not only produce some of this stuff, but think of it.
For example, the Taylor Swift revenge rap. Did I chuckle - yes; did I feel dumber after viewing it - absolutely. I felt sorry for this kids parents though, they must be wondering where they went wrong. The poster has his own channel which means he does this a lot. Makes me wonder if he can read or write. He's decent with a camera and effects, but probably can't spell his own name with a pen and paper.
I think the one thing that scares me the most about video sites is the fact that you can't seem to go to the grocery store without somebody filming it on their phone, editing it on their Mac and posting it to the internet.
One positive of video on the net, instruction. You can learn how to do just about anything via internet videos. I typed in 'cutting up a chicken' and had three pages of videos that showed step by step instructions. Insane. When did we get so visual?
There are positive ways to use this media forum, just few that use it that way.
