Travel log - Chicago II

The Niche Digital Conference has given me a plethora of ideas to take back to the windowless storage closet we call an office.

I don't want to bore anybody with mindless rambling about what I actually do to pay the bills, so I'm going to jump to a few fun things I discovered during a lunch session titled "video soup." Here were a couple of my favorites, and feel free to click onto the respective websites and poke around if you're bored. You might pick up some fun, or irrelevant information.

Now, on to the fun stuff...

The speaker today gave us an example of easy video blogging that is basically a one-man show. You can see the site at www.freezerburns.com. In a nutshell, this guy stands in his kitchen and videos himself giving reviews of actual products you'd find in the freezer aisle. In the video below he reviews Junior Johnson's breakfast rolls. And, for those of you who don't know Junior Johnson is only one of the greatest NASCAR drivers - ever. He's in the Hall of Fame.

This next example of some fun content is from www.hilahcooking.com. Hilah focuses on how-to videos that are often hilarious. Unlike the first of my favs, Hilah prepares food from scratch. She also wrote a cookbook - one I may have to check out.

So, the next step for me? Create videos for work that are similar to these - only about farming.
