In the next 30 days I will be on eight flights (including the ATL and the blog basically writes itself there), and in the next three months I will stay at seven hotels for a total number of nights that I've lost track of. Let's get those rewards cards swiping!
The first trip starts next week as we're heading to Nashville, and I'm hoping my travel karma is on its toes. I'm traveling on my bestie's birthday so that has to count for something, right? I hope so.
Part of my job when we hit the road is to act as support staff for both High Plains Journal sales and editorial folks. This means I'm a behind the scenes and my job is to make sure things don't collapse, breakdown, run out of batteries, get posted to the right blog, make sure the blog is up and running, and make sure we even have a booth to sit in. However, I doubt we'll do much sitting.
Once we get to Nashville we'll be covering the Cattle Industry's Annual Convention and NCBA Trade Show. We're doing things a little different this year, and we'll be keeping those folks who can't make it to Music City up-to-date via the convention blog. We're going to be shooting some videos, writing a few stories, doing a little radio, and of course having some fun with the cattle folks that roam the trade show.
You can read all about what we'll be up to in Nashville in Holly Martin's latest column that also tells you where to follow along. Of course we'll also have Journal columnist Trent Loos in the mix, and that means not a dull moment will be had in booth 974.
Let's hope that the trip doesn't turn into Music City madness!
