I can grow stuff...

My patio garden is still alive. I know, I know, I am shocked myself. I have actually had to go out and huddle them all up a time or two because the wind here blows that hard. My poor strawberries are looking a little rough, but the tomatoes in a tub are looking great - they even have little yellow flowers on them!

I want to take this moment and ask this very important question. When did my life become this boring? Plants are a form of entertainment, and I'm not really sure it's 100 percent healthy. Although, I'll take plants over cats any day. Being the plant lady is less lame than being the cat lady, and dead cats are much harder to get rid of.

I digress.

This week I had my very first patio garden harvest. I guess I shouldn't get overly excited because a toddler could probably grow herbs that were started at a nursery, but I reaped my first actual patio harvest.

This is cilantro and sweet basil, and there was quite a bit of it. So much of it I had to give it all away. Some of you are probably wondering why I didn't use it. Well, I had to Google how to harvest the stuff and I didn't want to take any more chances. I wouldn't know the first thing about cooking with fresh herbs.

That being said, maybe I should try that out - I bet it would make a pretty good blog post.
