Cool...

I just have to post this because nothing of this caliber ever happens to me.

I love books, especially old ones, so when I ran across a copy of "Stand on it" a novel by Stroker Ace, I had to get it. I couldn't seem to find this gem anywhere, but Amazon.com was my savior.

I purchased the book for $45. I know, crazy, but I did. Collectors editions go for $235 on up. I get my book and open up the quality packaging. I'm amazed at its condition, it looks pretty new. I open it up and it has signatures in it. This is cool.

The signature on the inside cover says "To Dick, Best Wishes, Betty Jane France" Betty Jane is the wife of Bill France, Jr. who passed away in June. The France Family is the first family of NASCAR. I was excited.

What was more exciting was the signature on the front page, next to the title. "To Dick, thanks for being a fan, best, Hal Needham" Hal was the director of the adapted movie "Stroker Ace" and also directed "Smokey and the Bandit" this was really cool.

Needless to say it made my day. I stayed up reading almost half of this great book last night. It's crude, rude and socially unfit...and that's why I like it. If you even slightly enjoyed the movie, I promise you'll like the book.

Oh that's so cool!!! It sounds like it could be worth a little extra. And it's a steal for $45!

I only saw Smokey and the Bandit, but I liked it!

Wow, that's just cool!
