The track that will blow you away is not just a fan favorite. It’s a circuit favorite and truly is a success story.
It is easily in the top 5 when it comes to traffic flow, fan experience and area hospitality. Not bad for an area that once was, well, nothing. In addition to its fascinating ammenities it has turned heads of NASCAR circuit travelers, and the important ones.
The media.
While discussing tracks on Sirius Radio's "The Morning Drive" Nate Ryan, USA Today, feels the traffic flow, surrounding area and overall facility at Kansas set it apart from any other track. In addition he gave props to the facility for really "taking care of the media."
Motorsports rule number one. Make your media happy, the facility will be successful. They are by far the best promotion tool.
The second best promotors tool, people. Kansas has a great staff, who much like another success story, proves people are the backbone of any business.
During the same segment, David Poole, the Charlotte Observer, brought Texas Motorspeedway to the table as a success story. Very true, in one of the toughest sports markets in America they’ve made a go of some pretty amazing numbers. Of course it doesn’t hurt to have one of the best promotors in the country pleading your case. Eddie Gossage who once was a public relations representative for Bobby Allison learned from the best, Humpy Wheeler. It doesn’t hurt to have Bruton Smith’s money behind you either.
When it comes to success stories Texas and Kansas are at the top of the list. That's pretty good company even if they are owned and operated by rival speedway corporations.
The development of the area has been second to none. It has helped a once stuggling Wyondotte County become one of the best facilities on the Kansas side of the metro. Other tracks should take notice of the area.
Then again out here in the ‘sticks’ we have something that other tracks *cough* Auto Club Speedway of Southern California *cough* doesn’t have.
We have FANS!
