The 2012 wheat harvest has wrapped.
It was not as productive for me, (as the last blog entry explained), but for everyone else it went well. Yields were up, the rain stayed at bay until almost the end and compared to last year it was a bumper crop considering we went 46 days without a rain and harvest was two weeks earlier.
Here are some shots of harvest. I don't have many, but a few.

Trying to beat the storm. No harvest is complete without the threat of weather. |

The storm clouds begin to gather. |

We finished up just in time. |

Flat tire on a Sunday. This is not a cheap fix. |
|
Mom (right) brings out lunch, she does this most nights. |
|
Filling the grain cart. |
|
Pretty good wheat considering we had no rain, and it was better than last year. |

It's a tough job - cleaning windows - but somebody has to do it. |

Dad doesn't like to get dirty - so after servicing the machine sis gives his back a blow off. Leaf blowers - every farmer should have one, or two. |
