Sunshine of my love?

It's off to sunny southern California for the next round of left turns. This race, generally pretty boring, should be given a breath of fresh air thanks to the car of...today.

It can't hurt.

California is not the most, well, inhabited raceway. It doesn't sell, end of story. However, in an effort to boost some sales they have devised a plan. Now, I'm not the firt person to ever praise California Speedway, I'm not a fan of it. Do I watch the races, hell yes, but do I have a somewhat bitter taste in my mouth from losing the traditional Southern 500, yeah. (I try not to judge, but it's hard.)

Gillian Zucker, president of California Speedway and her team have decided to give racefans in the L.A. market a twofer. Saturday's race docket will have Craftsman Truck racing and Nationwide qualifying and racing. Pretty good deal if you nab a ticket.

I'll be very curious to see how this works out. Personally, I'll be taking some notes.

Fantasy Picks
Who to watch-
Fords of Roush-Fenway Racing especially Matt Kenseth as he looks at a three-peat. Don't discount the dodges either, I have a feeling Daytona wasn't a fluke. Kyle Busch may also be one to watch.

California is odd, I'll give you that. They don't rally together for a good cause like the rest of the country does. All this "individualism" would be hampered by group cheering and chugging. I say screw the individualism and snotty attitudes toward group activities. They could use a class in "Social Unity." It would be taught with a field trip to 6 tailgate parties. If you don't make at least 12 friends per party, YOU FAIL! Because lets face it, 12 new friends per tailgate party is NOT hard. Especially with a little liquid libation of your choice!

Just some thoughts for socializing Californians lol.
