Kaboom!

The Walker Family Fourth Celebration 2015.
The Fourth of July is a great holiday. It's about more than homemade ice cream, grilled meat, and chocolate cake, but that's what we typcially remember. Oh, and of course a family who likes to blow stuff up.

The Walker family typically has a lot of laughs when we can all get together for this explosive holiday, and this year was no different.

I'm not sure what it is about explosives, but it's something that tends to bring our family together, and man do we laugh.

Things overheard during our celebration:

  • "Morgan, your hair is on fire."
  • "Jake, get back from there." (this phrase was repeated several times throughout the night).
  • "Where is my child?"
  • "A benefit if a big family, somebody has an eye on your kid."
  • "Yes. I really peed on it."
  • "Aunt Vic is the best cheerleader." (those yells and hollas of encouragement after a successful explosion make all the difference).
  • "Grandma threw it!" (and they wonder where we get it?)

The best quote if the night, "they would sell them if they were legal."

The best quote goes with the highlight of the night, and that was the sparkler bomb that was built with tedious TLC, and carefully wrapping a wad of sparklers with tape into a solid object resembling a cone with a fuse.

I have no idea how it worked, but it was pretty awesome.

I hope everyone was able to celebrate the holiday like we did; with good food, family, and explosive fun.
