Monday night September, 3, Heartland Park Topeka will host the Oren Covert Memorial Race. The race will feature TORA Late Models, Modifieds, Factory Stock and Hobby Stock. Hot laps start at 6 pm and races will begin at 7 pm. Adult tickets are $15, children 12-5 are $5 and children under 5 are $1.
Mr. Covert was a native Topekan and a racing enthusiast. He raced sprint cars, midgets and stock cars and was also designated a racing legend with the Topeka Legends in 1999. The Topeka Legends honors drivers and former drivers, age 45 and up. Honorees of the legends have all raced in and around Topeka.
Monday night at Heartland Park is also Topeka Legends night.
